Psalms 64

For the end. A psalm by David.

1 God, hear my voice when I plead. Rescue my soul from fear of the enemy.
2 You sheltered me from the conspiracy of evildoers, from the crowd of those who practice lawlessness.
3 They sharpened their tongues like swords and bent their bows for a bitter deed,
4 to shoot the blameless in hidden places. They will shoot him suddenly and will not be afraid.
5 They strengthened themselves with an evil plan and discussed hiding traps. They said,
“Who will see them?”
6 They investigated lawlessness and exhausted themselves in a thorough search. A person will approach, and the heart is deep,
7 and God will be exalted. Their wounds became like an arrow shot by infants.
8 Their own tongues weakened them. Everyone who saw them was troubled,
9 and every person became afraid. They reported God’s works and understood what he had done.
10 The righteous will be glad in the Lord and trust in him, and all the upright in heart will be praised.
