Psalms 62

For the end, concerning Jeduthun. A psalm by David.

Won’t my soul submit to God? My rescue comes from him.
He is my God and the one who rescues me, my supporter. I will not be greatly shaken.
How long will you attack a man? All of you commit murder, like attacking a leaning wall and a pushed-over fence.
They only plotted to cast away my honor. They ran in falsehood. They blessed with their mouths but cursed in their hearts. Pause.
Nevertheless, my soul, submit to God, because my endurance comes from him.
He is my God and the one who rescues me, my supporter. I will not be driven away.
My rescue and glory rest on God. He is the God of my help, and my hope rests on God.
Trust in him, whole gathering of the people. Pour out your hearts before him, because God is our helper. Pause.
Human beings are futile; human beings are false on scales meant for injustice. Together, they amount to nothing.
Do not trust in injustice or desire robbery. If wealth flows in, do not set your heart on it.
God spoke once; I heard these two things:
power belongs to God, and mercy belongs to you, Lord, because you will repay each person according to his deeds.
