Psalms 54
For the end, among hymns. For understanding, by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, ‘Is David not hidden among us?’
1 Save me by your name, God, and judge me by your might.
2 God, hear my prayer; listen to the words of my mouth.
3 Strangers rose against me, and powerful men sought my life. They did not set God before themselves. Pause.
4 Look, God helps me, and the Lord supports my soul.
5 He will return evil to my enemies. Completely destroy them by your truth.
6 I will willingly sacrifice to you and give thanks to your name, Lord, because it is good.
7 You rescued me from every affliction, and my eye looked upon my enemies.
