Psalms
Psalms 46
For the end, for the sons of Korah, concerning hidden things. A psalm.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a help in the afflictions that came upon us with great force.
2 Therefore we will not fear when the earth is troubled and mountains are moved into the hearts of the seas.
3 Their waters roared and were troubled; the mountains were troubled by his might. Pause.
4 The river’s currents gladden God’s city; the Most High made his tent holy.
5 God is within her; she will not be shaken. God will help her at daybreak.
6 Nations were troubled and kingdoms tottered. He gave his voice, and the earth shook.
7 The Lord of armies is with us; Jacob’s God is our helper. Pause.
8 Come and see the Lord’s works, the wonders he accomplished on the earth.
9 He puts an end to wars as far as the ends of the earth; he will crush the bow, break the weapon, and burn shields with fire.
10 “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted on the earth.”
11 The Lord of armies is with us; Jacob’s God is our helper.
