Psalms 34

By David, when he changed his appearance before Abimelech, who released him, and he departed.

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be in my mouth.
My soul will boast in the Lord; let the gentle hear and rejoice.
Magnify the Lord with me, and together let us exalt his name.
I sought the Lord, and he listened to me and rescued me from all my wanderings.
Approach him and be filled with light, and your faces will never be put to shame.
This poor man cried out, and the Lord listened to him and saved him from all his distress.
The Lord’s messenger will camp around those who fear him and rescue them.
Taste and see that the Lord is kind. Blessed is the man who trusts in him.
Fear the Lord, you who are holy to him, because those who fear him lack nothing.
The rich became poor and hungry, but those who diligently seek the Lord will lack no good thing. Pause.
Come, children, and listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Who is the person who desires life and loves to see good days?
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The Lord’s eyes are on the righteous, and his ears listen to their plea.
But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil, to destroy their memory from the earth.
The righteous cried out, and the Lord listened to them and rescued them from all their distress.
The Lord is near those whose hearts are broken, and he will save those who are humble in spirit.
The righteous have many troubles, but the Lord will rescue them from them all.
The Lord guards all their bones; not one of them will be broken.
The death of sinners is evil, and those who hate the righteous will go astray.
The Lord will ransom his servants’ souls, and none who trust in him will go astray.
