Psalms
Psalms 30
For the end. A psalm of a song for the dedication of the house. By David.
I will exalt you, Lord, because you lifted me up and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
Lord my God, I cried out to you, and you healed me.
Lord, you brought my soul up from Hades and saved me from among those who descend into the pit.
Make music to the Lord, you who are holy to him, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Anger comes in his wrath, but life comes in his will. Weeping will lodge for the evening, but joy will come in the morning.
In my prosperity I said, “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, in your will you added strength to my beauty. Then you turned your face away, and I was troubled.
I will cry out to you, Lord, and plead with my God.
What profit is there in my blood when I descend into destruction? Will the dust give thanks to you or proclaim your truth?
The Lord listened and showed me mercy; the Lord became my helper.
You turned my mourning into dancing. You tore off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
so that my glory may make music to you and I may never be pierced. Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
