Psalms 28

By David.

I cried out to you, Lord. My God, do not remain silent toward me; if you stay silent toward me, I will become like those who descend into the pit.
Listen to the voice of my plea when I pray to you and lift my hands toward your holy temple.
Do not drag my soul away with sinners or destroy me with those who practice injustice, who speak peace to their neighbors while evil is in their hearts.
Give them according to their works and the evil of their schemes. Give them according to the works of their hands; repay them with what they deserve.
Because they did not pay attention to the Lord’s works or to what his hands made, you will tear them down and never build them up.
Blessed is the Lord, because he listened to the voice of my plea.
The Lord is my helper and defender. My heart trusted in him, and I was helped; my flesh revived, and I will willingly give thanks to him.
The Lord is the strength of his people and the defender in every rescue of his anointed one.
Save your people and bless your inheritance. Shepherd them and lift them up forever.
