Psalms 26

By David.

Judge me, Lord, because I have walked in my innocence. By trusting in the Lord, I will not grow weak.
Examine me, Lord, and test me; refine my kidneys and my heart with fire.
Your mercy is before my eyes, and I have been well-pleasing in your truth.
I did not sit with a council of futility, and I will never associate with lawbreakers.
I hated the assembly of evildoers and will not sit with the ungodly.
I will wash my hands among the innocent and circle your altar, Lord,
so that I may hear the voice of praise and recount all your wonderful works.
Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house and the place of the tent of your glory.
Do not destroy my soul together with the ungodly or my life with bloodthirsty men,
whose hands hold lawlessness and whose right hands are full of gifts.
But I have walked in my innocence. Ransom me and show me mercy.
My foot stood in uprightness; I will bless you, Lord, in the assemblies.
