Psalms 24

A psalm by David, for the first day of the week.

The earth is the Lord’s, along with everything in it—the inhabited world and everyone who lives in it.
He founded it upon the seas and prepared it upon the rivers.
Who will ascend the Lord’s mountain? Who will stand in his holy place?
The one whose hands are innocent and whose heart is clean, who did not take up his soul for what is empty or swear deceitfully to his neighbor.
He will receive blessing from the Lord and an act of mercy from God, the one who saves him.
This is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of Jacob’s God. Pause.
Lift up your gates, you rulers! Rise up, ancient gates, and the King of glory will enter.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and powerful; the Lord, powerful in battle.
Lift up your gates, you rulers! Rise up, ancient gates, and the King of glory will enter.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of armies—he is the King of glory.
