Psalms 19

For the end. A psalm by David.

The heavens recount God’s glory, and the expanse reports the work of his hands.
Day pours out speech to day, and night reports knowledge to night.
There are no languages or words in which their voices are not heard.
Their sound went out into all the earth and their words to the ends of the world. He set his tent in the sun.
The sun comes out like a bridegroom from his chamber; it will rejoice like a giant running its course.
Its departure is from one end of heaven, and its circuit reaches the other end of heaven. No one will be hidden from its heat.
The Lord’s law is without blemish, turning souls back. The Lord’s witness is faithful, making infants wise.
The Lord’s rules are right, gladdening the heart. The Lord’s command is radiant, giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure, remaining forever and ever. The Lord’s judgments are true; taken together, they are righteous.
They are more desirable than gold and many precious stones, and sweeter than honey and honeycomb.
Indeed, your servant guards them, and in guarding them there is great repayment.
Who will understand his offenses? Make me clean from my hidden offenses.
Spare your servant from strangers. If they do not dominate me, then I will be without blemish and made clean from great sin.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be continually pleasing before you, Lord, my helper and the one who ransoms me.
