Psalms 11

For the end. A psalm by David.

1 I have trusted in the Lord. How will you say to my soul,
“Flee to the mountains like a sparrow”?
2 Look, sinners bent a bow and prepared arrows for the quiver, to shoot the upright in heart on a moonless night.
3 They tore down what you had prepared, but what did the righteous person do?
4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes watch the poor, and his eyelids examine human beings.
5 The Lord examines the righteous and the ungodly, but the one who loves injustice hates his own soul.
6 He will rain traps on sinners. Fire, sulfur, and a storm wind will be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous and loves righteous deeds; his face has seen uprightness.
