Psalms
Psalms 6
For the end, among hymns, concerning the eighth. A psalm by David.
1 Lord, do not correct me in your wrath or discipline me in your anger.
2 Have mercy on me, Lord, because I am weak. Heal me, Lord, because my bones are troubled.
3 My soul is greatly troubled—and you, Lord, how long?
4 Return, Lord, and rescue my soul. Save me because of your mercy.
5 No one remembers you in death. Who will give thanks to you in Hades?
6 I am worn out from groaning. Every night I will wash my bed and drench my couch with tears.
7 My eye is troubled because of anger. I have grown old among all my enemies.
8 Go away from me, all who practice lawlessness, because the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord has accepted my prayer.
10 May all my enemies be put to shame and greatly troubled. May they quickly turn back in deep shame.
