Enoch 5
Everything he made keeps its order
1 Observe how the trees cover themselves with green leaves and bear fruit. So pay attention and understand all his works, and recognize how he who lives forever made them this way. 2 And all his works go on this way from year to year forever, and so do all the tasks they carry out for him. Their tasks do not change, but just as God has ordained, so it is done. 3 And see how the sea and the rivers in the same way carry out their tasks and do not change them from his commandments.
The curse and the promise
4 But you — you have not been steadfast, nor done the commandments of the Lord,
But you have turned away and spoken proud and hard words
With your impure mouths against his greatness.
Oh, you hard-hearted, you will find no peace.
5 Therefore you will curse your days,
And the years of your life will perish,
And the years of your destruction will be multiplied in eternal cursing,
And you will find no mercy.
In those days you will make your names an eternal curse to all the righteous,
And by you all who curse will curse,
And all the sinners and godless will call down curses by you,
And for you, the godless, there will be a curse.
And all the … will rejoice,
And there will be forgiveness of sins,
And every mercy and peace and forbearance:
There will be salvation for them, a good light.
And for all of you sinners there will be no salvation,
But on you all a curse will remain.
But for the elect there will be light and joy and peace,
And they will inherit the earth.
8 And then wisdom will be given to the elect,
And they will all live and never sin again,
Either through ungodliness or through pride:
But those who are wise will be humble.
9 And they will not transgress again,
Nor will they sin all the days of their life,
Nor will they die of divine anger or wrath,
But they will complete the number of the days of their life.
And their lives will be increased in peace,
And the years of their joy will be multiplied,
In eternal gladness and peace,
All the days of their life.
