Genesis 5

This is the book of the generations of mankind. In the day God made Adam, he made him in the image of God — 2 male and female he made them — and he blessed them. And he gave them the name Adam on the day he made them.

Adam lived 230 years, and he fathered a son after his own form and his own image, and named him Seth. [a] 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 700 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Adam lived 930 years in all, and he died.

Seth lived 205 years, and he fathered Enosh. 7 After Enosh was born, Seth lived 707 years and had other sons and daughters. 8 Seth lived 912 years in all, and he died.

Enosh lived 190 years, and he fathered Kenan. 10 After Kenan was born, Enosh lived 715 years and had other sons and daughters. 11 Enosh lived 905 years in all, and he died.

Kenan lived 170 years, and he fathered Mahalalel. 13 After Mahalalel was born, Kenan lived 740 years and had other sons and daughters. 14 Kenan lived 910 years in all, and he died.

Mahalalel lived 165 years, and he fathered Jared. 16 After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived 730 years and had other sons and daughters. 17 Mahalalel lived 895 years in all, and he died.

Jared lived 162 years, and he fathered Enoch. 19 After Enoch was born, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Jared lived 962 years in all, and he died.

Enoch lived 165 years, and he fathered Methuselah. 22 After Methuselah was born, Enoch pleased God well for 200 years, and he had other sons and daughters. 23 All the days of Enoch came to 365 years. 24 Enoch was well-pleasing to God — and then he could not be found, because God took him away. [b]

Methuselah lived 167 years, and he fathered Lamech. 26 After Lamech was born, Methuselah lived 802 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Methuselah lived 969 years in all, and he died.

Lamech lived 188 years, and he fathered a son. 29 He named him Noah, and said, “This one will give us rest from our works and from the toil of our hands, and from the ground the Lord God has cursed.” 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 565 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Lamech lived 753 years in all, and he died. 32 And Noah was 500 years old when he fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
