1 Chronicles 8

1 Benjamin became the father of Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, Aharah the third, [a] 2 Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth. 3 And the sons of Bela were Addar, and Gera, and Abihud, 4 and Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahijah, 5 and Gera, and Sopharphak, and Oim.

6 These were the sons of Ehud. These are the leaders of families of those living in Geba, and they moved them to Manahath — 7 Naaman, and Ahijah, and Gera. He was the one who removed them, and he became the father of Naana and Ahihud. [b]

8 And Shaharaim had children in the plain of Moab, after he had sent away Hushim and Baada his wife. [c] 9 By Adah his wife he became the father of Jobab, and Zibia, and Mesha, and Malcam, 10 and Jaos, and Sabia, and Mirmah. These were leaders of families. 11 And by Hushim he became the father of Abitub and Elpaal.

12 And the sons of Elpaal were Obed, Misham, and Shemer, who built Ono and Lod and its villages; 13 and Beriah, and Shema. These were the leaders of the families of those living in Ailam, and they drove out the people living in Gath. [d]

14 And his brother, Shashak, and Jerimoth, [e] 15 and Zebadiah, and Orer, and Oded, 16 and Michael, and Ishpah, and Joha, the sons of Beriah; 17 and Zebadiah, and Meshullam, and Azaki, and Abar, 18 and Ishmerai, and Izliah, and Jobab, the sons of Elpaal;

19 and Jakim, and Zichri, and Zabdi, 20 and Elienai, and Zillethai, and Eliel, [f] 21 and Adaiah, and Beraiah, and Shimrath, the sons of Shimei;

22 and Ishpan, and Obed, and Eliel, 23 and Abdon, and Zichri, and Hanan, 24 and Hananiah, and Omri, and Ailam, and Anathothiah, 25 and Athin, and Jepheriah, and Peliel, the sons of Shashak;

26 and Shamsherai, and Shehariah, and Athaliah, 27 and Jaareshiah, and Elijah, and Zichri, the sons of Jeroham. 28 These were leaders of families, leaders by their generations. These lived in Jerusalem.

29 And in Gibeon there lived the father of Gibeon, and his wife’s name was Maacah. [g] 30 Her firstborn son was Abdon, and then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab, 31 and Gedor, and his brother, and Zechariah, and Mikloth. 32 And Mikloth became the father of Shimeah. These too lived opposite their brothers in Jerusalem, along with their brothers.

33 And Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Ishbaal. 34 The sons of Jonathan: Meribbaal. And Meribbaal became the father of Micah. [h] 35 The sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.

36 And Ahaz became the father of Jehoiada, and Jehoiada became the father of Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza; 37 and Moza became the father of Baanah. Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son. 38 And Azel had six sons, and these are their names: Azrikam his firstborn, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel. [i]

39 And the sons of Asel his brother were Ailam his firstborn, Jaish the second, Eliphelet the third. [j] 40 And the sons of Ailam were strong men, powerful at drawing the bow, and they had many sons and grandsons — a hundred and fifty. All these were of the sons of Benjamin.
