1 Chronicles 1

1 Adam, Seth, Enosh, † 2 Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, 3 Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, 4 Noah. The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. [a]

5 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Elishah, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. [b] 6 And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 7 And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, and the Rodanim. [c]

8 And the sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 9 And the sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. [d] 10 And Cush fathered Nimrod. He was the first to be a giant hunter on the earth. [e]

17 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, and Arphaxad. [f] 24 Shelah. 25 Eber, Peleg, Reu, 26 Serug, Nahor, Terah, 27 Abraham. †

28 The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael. 29 And these are the generations of the firstborn of Ishmael: Nebaioth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, [g] 30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 And the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan. [h] 33 And the sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34 And Abraham fathered Isaac. And the sons of Isaac: Esau and Jacob. [i] 35 The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 36 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, Kenaz, and Amalek, whom Timna bore. [j] 37 And the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. 39 And the sons of Lotan: Hori, Hemam, Ailath, and Namna. [k] 40 The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. [l] 41 The sons of Anah: Dishan. And the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. [m] 42 And the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 And these are their kings. Bela son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 44 And Bela died, and Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah, reigned in his place. 45 And Jobab died, and Husham, from the land of the Temanites, reigned in his place. 46 And Husham died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place — the one who struck down Midian in the plain of Moab; and the name of his city was Getthaim. [n]

47 And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. [o] 48 And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth-by-the-river reigned in his place. [p] 49 And Saul died, and Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place. 50 And Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Phogor. [q]

51 And Hadad died. And these were the chiefs of Edom: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth, [r] 52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, 53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar, 54 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom. [s]
