Numbers 34

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses. He said, 2 “Charge the children of Israel and say to them: You are going into the land of Canaan. It is to be yours as an inheritance — the land of Canaan, with its borders. 3 Your southern side is to run from the wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom, and your southern border is to run out on the side of the Salt Sea, eastward. 4 And your border is to turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on by Zin, and its end is to be south of Kadesh-barnea; and it is to go out to the village of Arad and pass on by Azmon. 5 And the border is to turn from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its end is to be at the sea. 6 And on the west your border is to be the Great Sea; that is to be your border on the west. [a] 7 And this is to be your northern border: from the Great Sea you are to measure out for yourselves along the side of the mountain; 8 and from the mountain you are to measure out for yourselves to the entrance of Hamath, and its end is to be the territory of Zedad. 9 And the border is to go out to Ziphron, and its end is to be at Hazar-enan; this is to be your border on the north. 10 And you are to measure out your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. 11 And the border is to go down from Shepham to Arbela, east of the springs; and the border is to go down from Bela behind the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward. 12 And the border is to go down to the Jordan, and its end is to be the Salt Sea. This is to be your land, with its borders all around.” [b]

13 And Moses charged the children of Israel. He said, 13 “This is the land you are to take for your own by lot, as the Lord commanded, to be given to the nine tribes and the half tribe of Manasseh. 14 For the tribe of the children of Reuben and the tribe of the children of Gad have received their inheritance by their families, and the half tribe of Manasseh have received theirs. 15 Two tribes and a half have received their inheritance across the Jordan, by Jericho, on the south and eastward.”

16 And the Lord spoke to Moses. He said, 17 “These are the names of the men who are to divide the land among you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. 18 And you are to take one leader from each tribe to divide the land among you by lot. 19 And these are the names of the men. From the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh. [c] 20 From the tribe of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud. 21 From the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon. 22 From the tribe of Dan, the leader Bukki son of Jogli. 23 Of the sons of Joseph, from the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod. 24 From the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan. 25 From the tribe of Zebulun, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach. 26 From the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan. 27 From the tribe of the children of Asher, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi. 28 From the tribe of Naphtali, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.” 29 These are the men the Lord commanded to hand out the inheritances to the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
