Leviticus
Leviticus 15
A Man with a Discharge
1 The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron. He said, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When any man has a discharge from his body, his discharge is unclean. 3 And this is the law of his uncleanness: whether his body runs with the discharge or is stopped up by it, this is his uncleanness. All the days his body has the discharge, whether it runs or is stopped, that is his uncleanness. 4 Every bed the man with the discharge lies on is unclean, and everything he sits on will be unclean. 5 And anyone who touches his bed is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 6 And whoever sits on anything the man with the discharge has sat on is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 7 And whoever touches the skin of the man with the discharge is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 8 And if the man with the discharge spits on someone who is clean, that person is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 9 And any donkey’s saddle the man with the discharge has ridden on will be unclean until evening. 10 And anyone who touches whatever has been under him will be unclean until evening; and whoever picks those things up is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 11 And anyone the man with the discharge touches without having rinsed his hands in water is to wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 12 And a clay pot the man with the discharge touches is to be broken; and a wooden vessel is to be rinsed with water, and it will be clean.
13 And when the man with the discharge is made clean of his discharge, he is to count off seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he will be clean. 14 And on the eighth day he is to take for himself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them before the Lord to the doors of the tent of witness, and give them to the priest. 15 The priest is to make them, one for the sin and one for a whole burnt offering, and the priest is to make atonement for him before the Lord because of his discharge.
A Flow of Seed
16 And a man who has a flow of seed go out from him is to bathe his whole body in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 17 And every garment and every skin that a flow of seed comes onto is to be washed with water, and it will be unclean until evening. 18 And a woman, when a man lies with her in a flow of seed — they are both to bathe in water, and they will be unclean until evening.
A Woman's Monthly Period
19 And a woman who has a flow of blood, when her discharge is in her body, will be seven days in her monthly period, and anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening. 20 And anything she lies on during her monthly period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. 21 And anyone who touches her bed is to wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 22 And anyone who touches anything she sits on is to wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 23 And whether she is on her bed or on the thing she is sitting on, when he touches her he will be unclean until evening. 24 And if a man lies with her and her uncleanness comes on him, he will be unclean seven days, and every bed he lies on will be unclean.
25 And a woman who has a flow of blood for many days, not at the time of her monthly period, or who goes on flowing after her monthly period — all the days of her unclean discharge will be like the days of her monthly period. She will be unclean. 26 And every bed she lies on during all the days of her discharge will be for her like the bed of her monthly period, and everything she sits on will be unclean, as with the uncleanness of her monthly period. 27 Anyone who touches it will be unclean, and he is to wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 28 But when she is made clean of the discharge, she is to count off seven days for herself, and after that she will be clean. 29 And on the eighth day she is to take for herself two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tent of witness. 30 And the priest is to make the one for the sin and the one for a whole burnt offering, and the priest is to make atonement for her before the Lord because of her unclean discharge.
31 And you are to make the children of Israel careful about their uncleannesses, so that they do not die through their uncleanness by defiling my tent, which is among them. 32 This is the law for the man with a discharge, and for anyone who has a flow of seed go out from him and is defiled by it, 33 and for the woman with a flow of blood in her monthly period, and for the man with a discharge in his discharge — for the male and for the female — and for the man who lies with a woman who is sitting apart.”
