The Accounting of the Metals

1 All the gold that was worked into the pieces, over the whole fabric of the holy things, came from the gold of the firstfruits offering: about twenty-two hundred pounds, by the holy standard. 2 And the silver, the portion set apart from the men of the gathering who were counted: about seventy-five hundred pounds — 3 a fifth of an ounce a head, the half piece of silver by the holy standard, from everyone who passed through the counting, from twenty years old and up: six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty men. 4 And the hundred talents of silver went into the casting of the hundred tops — for the tent and for the veil’s posts: a hundred tops from the hundred talents, seventy-five pounds to a top. 5 And the remaining silver they made into hooks for the posts; and he overlaid their tops and fitted them out. 6 And the bronze of the set-apart portion: about fifty-three hundred pounds. 7 And from it he made the bases of the door of the tent of witness, 8 and the bases of the court all around, and the bases of the gate of the court, and the pegs of the tent, and the pegs of the court all around, 9 and the bronze grate of the altar, and all the tools of the altar, and all the implements of the tent of witness. 10 And the children of Israel did just as the Lord had commanded Moses — so they did.

The Finished Work Brought to Moses

11 And the gold that was left of the set-apart portion they made into vessels for doing the service before the Lord. 12 And the blue that was left over, and the purple, and the scarlet, they made into garments of service for Aaron, to do the work of the service in them in the holy place. 13 And they brought the garments to Moses — and the tent and its tools, its bases and its bars and its posts, 14 and the ark of the covenant, with its carrying poles, 15 and the altar and all its tools, and the anointing oil, and the blended incense, 16 and the pure lampstand and its lamps — lamps for the burning — and the oil for the light, 17 and the table of the setting-out and all its tools, and the loaves that lie set out on it, 18 and the holy garments, which are Aaron’s, and the garments of his sons for the priesthood, 19 and the hangings of the court, with the posts, and the screen of the door of the tent and of the gate of the court, and all the tools of the tent and all its implements, 20 and the hides — the rams’ skins dyed red and the blue coverings — and the coverings for the rest, 21 and the pegs, and all the implements for the works of the tent of witness. 22 Everything the Lord had ordered Moses, so the children of Israel made — the whole outfitting. 23 And Moses saw all the works — and they had done them the very way the Lord had commanded Moses; so they had made them. And Moses blessed them.
