Revelation 10

1 And I saw another strong messenger coming down out of heaven, wrapped in a cloud, and the rainbow on his head, and his face like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire, [a] 2 and having in his hand a little scroll standing open. And he placed his right foot on the sea and the left on the earth, [b] 3 and he cried out with a loud voice, as a lion roars. And when he cried out, the seven thunders spoke their own voices. [c] 4 And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; and I heard a voice out of heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders spoke, and do not write them.” [d]

5 And the messenger whom I saw standing on the sea and on the earth raised his right hand to heaven, 6 and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created the heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that there will be no more time; [e] 7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh messenger, whenever he is about to sound, then the secret of God was completed, as he brought the good news to his own slaves the prophets. [f]

8 And the voice that I heard out of heaven, again speaking with me and saying, “Go, take the scroll that is standing open in the hand of the messenger who is standing on the sea and on the earth.” [g] 9 And I went away to the messenger, telling him to give me the little scroll. And he says to me, “Take it and eat it up, and it will make your belly bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” [h] 10 And I took the little scroll out of the hand of the messenger and ate it up, and it was in my mouth sweet as honey; and when I ate it, my belly was made bitter. [i] 11 And they say to me, “You must prophesy again over peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.” [j]
