Revelation
Revelation 6
The First Four Seals
1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, like a voice of thunder, “Come.” 2 And I saw, and look — a white horse, and the one seated on it having a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and so that he might conquer.
3 And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” 4 And another horse went out, fiery red; and to the one seated on it, to him it was given to take peace out of the earth and that they should slaughter one another; and a great sword was given to him.
5 And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” And I saw, and look — a black horse, and the one seated on it having a balance in his hand. 6 And I heard something like a voice in the middle of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”
7 And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8 And I saw, and look — a pale green horse, and the one seated on top of it, his name Death; and Hades was following with him. And authority was given to them over the fourth of the earth, to kill by sword and by famine and by death and by the beasts of the earth.
Under the Altar
9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony they held. 10 And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, Master, holy and true, are you not judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 And a white robe was given to each of them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a little time, until their fellow slaves and their brothers who are about to be killed as they were should also be completed.
The Sixth Seal
12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake happened, and the sun became black like sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of heaven fell to the earth as a fig tree throws down its unripe figs when it is shaken by a great wind, 14 and the sky was parted like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth and the nobles and the commanders of a thousand and the rich and the strong and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
