Revelation 3

To Sardis

1 “And to the messenger of the gathering in Sardis write: This is what the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says: I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, and you are dead. 2 Become one who stays awake, and strengthen the rest, which were about to die, for I have not found your works completed before my God. 3 Remember, then, how you have received and heard, and keep it, and have a change of mind. If, then, you do not stay awake, I will come like a thief, and you will certainly not know what hour I will come upon you. 4 But you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy. 5 The one who conquers will be clothed like this in white garments, and I will certainly not wipe his name out of the book of life, and I will acknowledge his name before my Father and before his messengers. 6 The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the gatherings.”

To Philadelphia

7 “And to the messenger of the gathering in Philadelphia write: This is what the holy one says, the true one, the one who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens: 8 I know your works — look, I have given before you an opened door, which no one is able to shut — that you have little power, and you kept my word, and you did not deny my name. 9 Look, I am giving some of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are lying — look, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and know that I have loved you. 10 Because you kept the word of my endurance, I also will keep you out of the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole inhabited world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming quickly. Hold fast what you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12 The one who conquers — I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and he will certainly never go outside again, and I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, the one coming down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name. 13 The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the gatherings.”

To Laodicea

14 “And to the messenger of the gathering in Laodicea write: This is what the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God: 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you out of my mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, and I have grown rich, and I need nothing,’ and you do not know that you are the wretched one and pitiable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness may not be shown, and eye-salve to rub on your eyes so that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I correct and discipline. Be zealous, then, and have a change of mind. 20 Look, I have stood at the door and I am knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will also come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers — I will give him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the gatherings.”
