Enoch 96

The Bible (Septuagint)

Enoch

Enoch 96

Be hopeful, you righteous

1 Be hopeful, you righteous; for suddenly the sinners will perish before you,
And you will rule over them according to your desires.
2 And in the day of the tribulation of the sinners,
Your children will mount up and rise like eagles,
And your nest will be higher than the vultures,
And you will go up and enter the crevices of the earth,
And the clefts of the rock forever, like rock badgers before the unrighteous,
And the sirens will sigh because of you — and weep.
3 So do not be afraid, you who have suffered;
For healing will be your portion,
And a bright light will shine on you,
And you will hear the voice of rest from heaven.

Woe to you, sinners

4 Woe to you, sinners, for your riches make you look like the righteous,
But your hearts convict you of being sinners,
And this fact will be a testimony against you, as a memorial of your evil deeds.
5 Woe to you who devour the finest of the wheat,
And drink wine in large bowls,
And trample the lowly underfoot with your might.
6 Woe to you who drink water from every fountain,
For suddenly you will be consumed and wither away,
Because you have forsaken the fountain of life.
7 Woe to you who work unrighteousness
And deceit and blasphemy:
It will be a memorial against you for evil.
8 Woe to you, you mighty,
Who oppress the righteous with might;
For the day of your destruction is coming.
In those days many good days will come to the righteous — in the day of your judgment.
