Titus
Titus 2
What Fits Healthy Teaching
1 But you, speak the things that fit the healthy teaching. 2 Old men are to be clear-headed, dignified, of sound sense, healthy in the faith, in love, in endurance. 3 Old women likewise: in their bearing, as befits holy things; not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good, 4 so that they may bring the young women to sound sense — to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be of sound sense, pure, workers at home, good, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 The younger men likewise urge to have sound sense, 7 in all things holding yourself out as a pattern of good works: in your teaching, incorruptness, dignity, 8 healthy speech that cannot be condemned, so that the one on the opposing side may be put to shame, having nothing worthless to say about us.
Slaves and Their Own Masters
9 Slaves are to be subject to their own masters in all things, to be well pleasing, not talking back, 10 not taking for themselves in secret, but showing all good faithfulness, so that in all things they may adorn the teaching of God our rescuer.
The Favor of God Has Appeared
11 For the favor of God has appeared, bringing rescue to all people, 12 training us so that, having denied ungodliness and worldly desires, we may live with sound sense and righteously and devoutly in the present age, 13 waiting for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our rescuer, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us so that he might ransom us from all lawlessness and cleanse for himself a people of his own, zealous for good works.
15 Speak these things, and urge, and convict with all authority to command. Let no one look down on you.
