2 Timothy
2 Timothy 3
In the Last Days, Hard Seasons
1 But know this: that in the last days hard seasons will set in. 2 For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, unwilling to make peace, accusers, without self-control, untamed, no lovers of good, 4 traitors, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding a form of devoutness but having denied its power. Turn away from these too.
6 For from among these are the ones who slip into households and take captive little women loaded down with sins, led on by desires of every kind, 7 always learning and never able to come into full knowledge of truth. 8 And in the way that Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses, so these also stand against the truth — people ruined in mind, unproved concerning the faith. 9 But they will not go forward much further, for their folly will be plain to all, as the folly of those two also became.
You Followed My Teaching Closely
10 But you followed closely my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance, 11 my persecutions, my sufferings — such as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; such persecutions as I bore, and out of them all the Lord rescued me. 12 And indeed all who want to live devoutly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13 But evil people and impostors will go forward to worse, leading astray and being led astray.
From Infancy You Have Known the Sacred Writings
14 But you, remain in what you learned and were made sure of, knowing from whom you learned it, 15 and that from infancy you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for rescue through faith that is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, for exposing, for setting straight, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted out for every good work.
