Philippians 4

Stand This Way in the Lord

1 So then, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown — stand this way in the Lord, beloved. 2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to think the same thing in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you also, genuine yokefellow, help these women, who struggled side by side with me in the good news, along with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Be Anxious About Nothing

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say it — rejoice. 5 Let your fairness be known to all people. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and by plea with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all mind, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

8 For the rest, brothers: whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is righteous, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is well spoken of — if there is any virtue and if there is any praise — think on these things. 9 What you also learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these things; and the God of peace will be with you.

I Have Learned to Be Self-Sufficient

10 And I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last you have made your thinking for me bloom again — in which you were indeed thinking, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I speak according to lack, for I learned to be self-sufficient in whatever circumstances I am in. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to overflow. In everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to hunger, both to overflow and to lack. 13 I have strength for all things in the one who empowers me.

14 Nevertheless you did well, sharing together with me in my affliction. 15 And you yourselves know, Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news, when I went out from Macedonia, no gathering shared with me in an account of giving and receiving except you alone, 16 because even in Thessalonica you sent for my need both once and twice. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your account. 18 But I have all things in full, and I overflow. I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you — a pleasing smell, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God will fill your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 And to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Greetings

21 Greet every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers with me greet you. 22 All the holy ones greet you, and most of all those of Caesar’s household. 23 The favor of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
