2 Corinthians

2 Corinthians 6

Now Is the Day of Rescue

1 And working together, we also urge you not to receive the favor of God in vain. 2 For he says:

“At an acceptable time I heard you,
and on a day of rescue I helped you.”

Look, now is a well-received time; look, now is a day of rescue.

As God’s Servants

3 Giving no cause for stumbling in anything, so that the service may not be found fault with,

4 but in everything commending ourselves as God’s servants:
in much endurance, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 in blows, in prisons, in disorders,
in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings,
6 in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness,
in the Holy Spirit, in love without hypocrisy,
7 in a word of truth, in the power of God;
through the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left,
8 through glory and dishonor, through bad report and good report;
as deceivers and true,
9 as unknown and fully known,
as dying — and look, we live,
as being disciplined and not being put to death,
10 as being grieved but always rejoicing,
as poor but making many rich,
as having nothing and holding everything.

Open Wide to Us

11 Our mouth has opened to you, Corinthians; our heart has been widened. 12 You are not cramped in us, but you are cramped in your own inward parts. 13 As the same repayment — I speak as to children — you too be widened.

What Portion With the Faithless?

14 Do not become unevenly yoked with the faithless. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness, or what sharing has light with darkness? 15 And what agreement has Christ with Beliar, or what portion has one who is faithful with one who is faithless? 16 And what accord has a sanctuary of God with idols? For we are a sanctuary of the living God, just as God said:

“I will dwell in them and walk about among them,
and I will be their God, and they will be my people.
17 Therefore go out from among them and separate yourselves, says the Lord,
and do not touch anything unclean;
and I will receive you in,
18 and I will be a father to you,
and you will be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.”
