1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 16
Now Concerning the Collection
1 Now concerning the collection for the holy ones: as I directed the gatherings of Galatia, so you also do. 2 On the first day of the week let each of you put something aside by himself, storing up whatever he may be prospered in, so that when I come there may be no collections then. 3 And when I arrive, whomever you approve, these I will send with letters to carry your favor to Jerusalem; 4 and if it is worth my going too, they will go with me.
When I Come to You
5 But I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia — for I am passing through Macedonia — 6 and with you, perhaps, I will stay on, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now just in passing; for I hope to remain some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8 But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost; 9 for a door has opened to me, great and effective, and there are many who oppose.
10 Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear, for he works the work of the Lord as I also do. 11 So let no one treat him as nothing. Send him on in peace, so that he may come to me, for I am waiting for him with the brothers. 12 Now concerning Apollos the brother: I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, and it was altogether not the will that he come now; but he will come when he has the opportunity.
Be on the Watch
13 Stay awake, stand in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Let everything of yours be done in love.
15 Now I call on you, brothers — you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruit of Achaia and that they appointed themselves to service for the holy ones — 16 that you also be subject to such people, and to everyone who works with them and labors. 17 And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because these filled up what was lacking from you; 18 for they gave rest to my spirit and to yours. So recognize such people.
The Greeting in My Own Hand
19 The gatherings of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you warmly in the Lord, with the gathering at their house. 20 All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
21 The greeting is in my own hand — Paul’s. 22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be a thing devoted. Marana tha. 23 The favor of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus.
