Zechariah 14
The Lord Fights for Jerusalem
1 Look — the Lord’s days are coming, when your plunder will be divided within you. 2 “I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for war. The city will be captured, the houses plundered, and the women violated. Half the city will go into exile, but those who remain of my people will not be completely destroyed out of the city. 3 Then the Lord will go out and fight those nations as he fought in the day of battle. 4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives will split apart, half toward the east and half toward the west, a very great chasm. Half the mountain will lean north and half south.
5 The valley of my mountains will be closed, and the valley of the mountains will reach Jasol. It will be blocked as it was during the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. 6 On that day there will be no light, cold, or frost. 7 There will be one day, a day known to the Lord. It will be neither day nor night, but there will be light toward evening. 8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half toward the eastern sea and half toward the western sea. It will flow in summer and in spring.
The Lord King Over the Whole Earth
9 The Lord will be King over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord and one name. 10 The whole land and the wilderness will circle from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem. Ramah will remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the place of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and to the Tower of Hananel, as far as the king’s winepresses. 11 People will live in the city. There will be no more curse, and Jerusalem will live securely. 12 This is the overthrow with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: their flesh will waste away while they stand on their feet; their eyes will melt in their sockets, and their tongue will waste away in their mouth.
13 On that day a great panic from the Lord will fall on them. Each person will seize his neighbor’s hand, and his hand will be locked with his neighbor’s hand. 14 Judah will also fight in Jerusalem and gather the wealth of all the surrounding nations — gold, silver, and clothing in great abundance. 15 The same overthrow will strike the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and every animal in those camps.
The Nations Keep the Feast of Tents
16 Everyone left from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to bow before the King, the Lord Almighty, and to keep the Feast of Tents.
17 If any of the tribes of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to bow before the King, the Lord Almighty, they will be added to the overthrow. 18 If the tribe of Egypt does not go up and come, the same overthrow will fall on them — the one with which the Lord strikes every nation that does not come up to keep the Feast of Tents. 19 This will be Egypt’s sin and the sin of every nation that does not go up to keep the Feast of Tents. 20 On that day the bridle of every horse will bear the words, ‘Holy to the Lord Almighty,’ and the cooking pots in the Lord’s house will be like the bowls before the altar.
21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the Lord Almighty. Everyone who sacrifices will come, take one, and boil meat in it. On that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the Lord Almighty’s house.”
