Zechariah 10

Ask the Lord for Rain

Ask the Lord for rain in season, both early and late. The Lord has made bright signs and will give them winter rain, giving everyone grass in the field.
The soothsayers have spoken trouble, the diviners have seen false visions, and they have told false dreams and given empty comfort. So they were driven off like sheep and afflicted because there was no healing.
My anger burned against the shepherds, and I will visit the lambs. The Lord God Almighty will visit his flock, Judah’s house, and make them like his splendid warhorse.
From him he looked; from him he set the battle in order; from him came the bow of anger; and from him every oppressor will come out together.
They will be like warriors trampling clay in the roads during battle. They will draw up the battle line because the Lord is with them, and the horsemen will be put to shame.

Judah and Joseph Gathered Home

I will strengthen Judah’s house and rescue Joseph’s house. I will settle them because I have loved them. They will be as though I had never cast them away, because I am the Lord their God, and I will hear them.
They will be like Ephraim’s warriors. Their hearts will rejoice as with wine; their children will see it and be glad, and their hearts will rejoice in the Lord.
I will signal them and gather them in, because I will ransom them. They will become as numerous as they were before.
I will sow them among the peoples. Those far away will remember me, nourish their children, and return.
I will bring them back from Egypt and gather them from Assyria. I will bring them into Gilead and Lebanon, and not even one of them will be left behind.
They will pass through a narrow sea and strike its waves, and every river depth will dry up. Assyria’s pride will be taken away, and Egypt’s scepter will be removed.
I will strengthen them in the Lord their God, and they will boast in his name,” says the Lord.
