Daniel

Daniel 12

Michael and the Awakening

1 “At that time Michael, the great ruler who stands over your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress unlike any since a nation first existed on earth. At that time your people will be rescued—everyone found written in the book.” 2 “Many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life and some to disgrace and everlasting shame.” 3 “Those who have understanding will shine like the brightness of the expanse, and some of the many righteous like the stars forever and ever.” 4 “But you, Daniel, close up the words and seal the book until the time of the end, until many are taught and knowledge increases.”

How Long Until the End?

5 Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there, one on each bank of the river. 6 One of them asked the man clothed in linen, who was above the river’s water, “How long until the end of the wonders you have described?” 7 I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the river’s water. He raised both his right and left hands to heaven and swore by the one who lives forever: “It will be for a time, times, and half a time. When the scattering of the holy people’s power has ended, they will understand all these things.” 8 I heard but did not understand, so I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?” 9 He answered, “Go on, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.” 10 “Many will be chosen, made white, and tested by fire. The lawless will act lawlessly, and none of them will understand, but those with understanding will understand.” 11 “From the time the regular sacrifice is removed and the detestable thing of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.” 12 “Blessed is the one who waits and reaches 1,335 days.” 13 “But go on and rest. There are still days until the end is fulfilled, and you will rise to receive your allotted place at the end of the days.”
