Ezekiel 46
Offerings and the Leader’s Property
1 “This is what the Lord God says: The east-facing gate of the inner court will remain shut during the six workdays, but it will be opened on the Sabbath and on the day of the new moon.” 2 “The leader will enter through the porch of the outer gate and stand at the gate’s entrance. The priests will prepare his whole burnt offerings and sacrifices of well-being, and he will worship at the gate’s entrance. Then he will leave, but the gate will remain open until evening.” 3 “The people of the land will worship before the Lord at that gate’s entrance on Sabbaths and new moons.” 4 “On the Sabbath, the leader will bring the Lord six unblemished lambs and one unblemished ram as whole burnt offerings.” 5 “He will provide a cake as a grain offering for the ram, and for the lambs a sacrifice, whatever his hand can give, with about one gallon of oil for each cake.” 6 “On the day of the new moon, he will bring one unblemished calf, six lambs, and one unblemished ram.” 7 “He will provide a cake as a grain offering for the ram and calf, and as much as his hand can provide for the lambs, with about one gallon of oil for each cake.” 8 “When the leader enters, he will come through the gate’s porch and leave by the same gate.” 9 “When the people of the land come before the Lord at the feasts, anyone entering through the north gate to worship must leave through the south gate, and anyone entering through the south gate must leave through the north gate. No one may return through the gate used to enter but must leave by the opposite gate.” 10 “The leader will enter among them when they enter and leave when they leave.” 11 “At the feasts and general assemblies, provide a cake as a grain offering for each calf and ram, as much as the leader’s hand can provide for the lambs, and about one gallon of oil for each cake.” 12 “If the leader prepares a vowed whole burnt offering of well-being to the Lord, the east-facing gate will be opened for him. He will present his whole burnt offering and sacrifice of well-being just as he does on the Sabbath. After he leaves, the doors will be shut.” 13 “Each morning he will prepare an unblemished year-old lamb as a daily whole burnt offering to the Lord.” 14 “Each morning he will prepare with it a grain offering: about 3½ dry quarts of flour, with about a quart and a third of oil to mix into the fine flour, a grain offering to the Lord. This is a lasting decree.” 15 “Prepare the lamb, grain offering, and oil each morning as a lasting whole burnt offering.” 16 “This is what the Lord God says: If the leader gives one of his sons a gift from his inheritance, it will belong to his sons as an inherited possession.” 17 “If he gives a gift to one of his servants, it will belong to that servant until the year of release, when it returns to the leader. Only the inheritance given to his sons will remain theirs.” 18 “The leader must not take any of the people’s inheritance or oppress them. He must give his sons an inheritance from his own possession, so none of my people are scattered from their possessions.” 19 He brought me through the entrance behind the gate into the north-facing room of the holy place that belonged to the priests. I saw a designated place there. 20 He told me, 20 “This is where the priests will boil the offerings for ignorance and the offerings for sin and bake the grain offering, so they do not carry them into the outer court and make the people holy.” 21 He brought me into the outer court and led me around its four sides. I saw a smaller court at each corner. 22 The four corner courts had the same dimensions: each was 70 feet long and 52½ feet wide. 23 Rooms surrounded all four courts, with cooking areas below the rooms all around. 24 He said to me, 24 “These are the kitchens where those who serve the temple will boil the people’s sacrifices.”
