Ezekiel 38
Gog Comes against Israel
1 The word of the Lord came to me. 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog and the land of Magog, the ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him.” 3 “Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.’” 4 “I will gather you and your whole force: horses and riders, all wearing armor, a great multitude with shields, helmets, and swords.” 5 “Persians, Ethiopians, and Libyans will be with them, all carrying helmets and shields.” 6 “Gomer and all his forces, and the house of Togarmah from the far north with all its forces, will join you. Many nations will be with you.” 7 “Be prepared. Prepare yourself and the whole multitude assembled with you, and serve as my guard.” 8 “After many days he will be prepared. At the end of years he will come to a land restored from the sword. Its people were gathered from many nations to Israel’s formerly desolate land. They came from the nations and now all live in peace.” 9 “You will rise like rain and arrive like a cloud covering the land—you, everyone around you, and the many nations with you.” 10 “This is what the Lord God says: On that day thoughts will rise in your heart, and you will devise evil schemes.” 11 “You will say,” 11 “I will go up against the rejected land. I will come against people at ease, living peacefully in a land without walls, bars, or gates.” 12 “You will come to seize plunder and take spoils, turning your hands against the once-desolate but now inhabited land and against a nation gathered from many nations, a people who have gained property and live at the navel of the earth.” 13 Sheba, Dedan, the Carthaginian merchants, and all their villages will ask you, 13 “Have you come to plunder and carry off spoils? Have you gathered your forces to take silver and gold, carry away property, and seize plunder?” 14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and tell Gog, ‘This is what the Lord says: On the day my people Israel live in peace, will you not rise’” 15 “‘and come from your place in the far north with many nations, all mounted on horses, a great assembly and large force?’” 16 “‘You will rise against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the last days I will bring you against my land so that all nations will know me when I am made holy through you before them.’” 17 “‘This is what the Lord God says to Gog: You are the one I spoke about in former times through my servants, Israel’s prophets, when I said during those days and years that I would bring you against them.’” 18 “On that day, the day Gog comes against the land of Israel, says the Lord God, my wrath will rise,” 19 “and my jealousy with it. In the fire of my anger I have spoken: On that day there will be a great shaking in Israel’s land.” 20 “The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the wild animals of the field, all the crawling creatures that crawl on the earth, and every person on the face of the earth will quake at the presence of the Lord. The mountains will be torn apart, the valleys will fall, and every wall on the land will fall to the ground.” 21 “‘I will summon every terror against Gog, says the Lord. Everyone’s sword will turn against his brother.’” 22 “‘I will judge him with plague, bloodshed, flooding rain, and hailstones. I will rain fire and sulfur on him, his forces, and the many nations with him.’” 23 “‘I will be magnified, made holy, and glorified. I will become known before many nations, and they will know that I am the Lord.’”
