Ezekiel 35

Against Mount Seir

1 The word of the Lord came to me. 2 “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it.” 3 “Tell it, ‘This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate wasteland.’” 4 “I will cause desolation in your cities, and you will be desolate, and you will know that I am the Lord.” 5 “Because you have been an unending enemy and treacherously lay in wait for the house of Israel, to hand them to the sword of their enemies in the time of wrongdoing, at the end,” 6 “therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, you have sinned to the point of blood, and blood will pursue you.” 7 “I will make Mount Seir a desolate wasteland and destroy its people and cattle.” 8 “I will fill your hills and your valleys with the slain, and those killed by the sword will fall throughout your plains.” 9 “I will make you a lasting desolation, and your cities will never be inhabited again. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” 10 “You said, ‘The two nations and two countries will be mine, and I will inherit them,’ even though the Lord is there.” 11 “Therefore, as I live, says the Lord, I will deal with you according to your enmity, and I will make myself known to you when I judge you.” 12 “Then you will know that I am the Lord. I heard the blasphemies you spoke: ‘Israel’s deserted mountains have been given to us as food.’” 13 “You spoke boastful words against me, and I heard them.” 14 “This is what the Lord says: When all the earth is rejoicing, I will make you a desert.” 15 “You will be a desert, Mount Seir, and all Edom will be completely consumed. Then you will know that I am the Lord their God.”
