Ezekiel 25

Against Ammon, Moab, Edom, and Philistia

1 The Lord’s word came to me. 2 “Son of man, set your face firmly against the people of Ammon and prophesy against them.” 3 “Tell the people of Ammon, ‘Hear the Lord’s word. This is what the Lord says: You rejoiced when my sanctuary was treated as common, Israel’s land was devastated, and the house of Judah went into exile.’” 4 “Therefore, look, I will give you to the people of Kedem as an inheritance. They will camp among you with all their baggage and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your richness.” 5 “I will make Ammon’s city a pasture for camels and the people of Ammon a pasture for sheep. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” 6 “This is what the Lord says: You clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced wholeheartedly against Israel’s land.” 7 “Therefore, I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will destroy you from among the peoples and remove you from the countries. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” 8 “This is what the Lord says: Moab said, ‘Look, the house of Israel and Judah are just like all the other nations.’” 9 “Therefore, look, I will weaken Moab’s flank, starting from its frontier cities — that choice land: Bethasimuth, above the spring of the city by the sea.” 10 “I will give Moab, along with Ammon, to the people of Kedem as an inheritance so that Ammon will no longer be remembered.” 11 “I will execute vengeance on Moab, and they will know that I am the Lord.” 12 “This is what the Lord says: Edom took vengeance on the house of Judah, remembered old injuries, and exacted full repayment.” 13 “Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom, destroy its people and cattle, and make it desolate. Those fleeing from Teman will fall by the sword.” 14 “I will execute vengeance on Edom through my people Israel. They will deal with Edom according to my anger and wrath, and Edom will know my vengeance, says the Lord.” 15 “This is what the Lord says: The Philistines acted vengefully and raised up vengeance with heartfelt rejoicing, to wipe them out forever.” 16 “Therefore, this is what the Lord says: Look, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, destroy the Cretans, and remove the survivors along the coast.” 17 “I will execute great vengeance on them. When I bring my vengeance against them, they will know that I am the Lord.”
