Isaiah
Isaiah 52
Wake Up, Zion
Wake up, wake up, Zion. Put on your strength, Zion, and put on your glory, Jerusalem, holy city. The uncircumcised and unclean will no longer pass through you.
Shake off the dust and rise. Sit down, Jerusalem. Remove the chain from your neck, captive daughter of Zion.
This is what the Lord says: You were sold for nothing, and you will not be ransomed with silver.
This is what the Lord says: My people went down to Egypt long ago to live there, and later the Assyrians carried them away by force.
Now why are you here? says the Lord. My people were taken for nothing; marvel and wail, says the Lord. Because of you, my name is constantly insulted among the nations.
Therefore my people will know my name on that day, because I am the one speaking. I am present,
like a beautiful season on the mountains, like the feet of someone announcing peace and bringing good news. I will announce your rescue and say, ‘Zion, your God will reign.’
The voice of those guarding you is raised. Together they will rejoice aloud, because eye will look to eye when the Lord has mercy on Zion.
Deserted places of Jerusalem, burst into joy together, because the Lord had mercy on her and rescued Jerusalem.
The Lord will reveal his holy arm before all nations, and every end of the earth will see the rescue that comes from God.
Leave, leave, and go out from there. Do not touch anything unclean. Go out from among her and separate yourselves, you who carry the Lord’s vessels.
You will not leave in an uproar or flee, because the Lord will go ahead of you, and the Lord, the God of Israel, is the one who gathers you.
Look, my servant will understand. He will be lifted high and greatly given glory.
Just as many will be amazed at you, your face will lack honor from people, and human beings will not honor your glory.
In this way many nations will marvel at him, and kings will shut their mouths. Those who received no report about him will see, and those who never heard will understand.
